Miscarriage Of Justice

Today we learned that Bob Watson, a full 9 years after the fact still is pissed off and has an ax to grind with the Yankees.

As a result of the dust up in game two of the Toronto series, we learned that the team that started everything would receive fines. The team that was protecting its player received fines and suspensions. Clemens is gone for 5 games, will miss a start, on top of an undisclosed fine. Joe Torre is also suspended for another game.

Let's call it like it is, and state clearly that this whole damn thing is out of order.

Bob Watson hates George Steinbrenner for the way he was treated while he was the GM. Always a Rodney Dangerfield, no-respect kind of guy, Watson quit on the Yanks in 1998. Since then his ill feelings for how he was treated has stewed and is now clear, any chance he gets he will put the screws to the Bombers.

It is us against the world --

It's like 1977 all over again, Mid. We will prevail and Giambi will hit three home runs on three consecutive pitches to win the World Series.

I have to say, I do love 'The Bronx is Burning' on ESPN. One of the best scenes was when Mickey Rivers' wife stormed into George's office demanding Mickey's paycheck be made out to her. Great scene.

Reggie Jackson was an A_ _ H_ _ E!! The magnitude of me??? really?

Here's just a little tidbit for our favorite Met fan:

On August 12th the Yankee record is 65-51 and the Mets record is 64-52.

When the hell did that happen, Heinz?

If the Mets played in anything other than a glorified triple A league, they would be on the way out of the playoffs. Their bullpen is so bad that I bet we could get Lastings Milledge for Farnsworth right now. We are watching Willie Randolph's last few weeks as a major league manager.

Here are some latest rumblings...

Farnsworth is falling even further out of favor with Torre (surprise). He's only appeared in 3 games this month.

Apparently the Yankees are now considering to pick up Abreu and his $16M option for next year. Despite his hot hitting now, I would find it hard to believe the Yanks would pay him $16M. I could see them declining the option then negotiating somewhere in the $10-12M range...which is still a hell of a lot more than what he's worth.

No miscarriage of Justice. Clemens supported his teammates and he knew the risk. Five days and he has accepted the penalty.

To our great Muts fan - Yankee record is now slightly better than theirs. No joy in Mudville.
