A-Rod Stays; Sheff Being Shopped

A-Rod is staying so says Yankees GM Brian Cashman and player super agent Scott Boraz. Other than those Jeter fans that live in denial, there is no sane person that ever truly thought he was ever moving anyway.

In his first three seasons A-Rod has delivered an MVP award, a .300 batting average and 40 HRs per season. Postseason woes you say? Look jerk, it happens to more players than A-Rod. Think for a moment about the most feared hitter in baseball. You know, the one who is off to the best 5 seasons in the history of baseball - Albert Pujols. How has he done this postseason? Now what if the Cardinals fans and media started demanding they trade him because he's a worthless sack of trash that can't top the Mendoza line in the postseason? If they did trade him, about how many millions of people would think that the organization had gone mad and is just plain stupid? Well, guess what Jeter fans - BOTH of you, that's what the rest of the world thinks of you for contemplating such a move on A-Rod - STUPID.

He's staying - that's a good thing - he will be the one to lead the Yanks to ring number 27 (much to Jeter's chagrin). And, from the world of Pinstripe Predictions: A-Rod will put together the best offensive onslaught in the history of baseball in 2007.

In other news, the Yanks are reportedly shopping Sheffield to ensure he won't land in Boston. Sources close to the matter say that Sheff wants to be dealt to a hitter friendly ball park and to a franchise that can and will pay for his services. HOUSTON - we don't have a problem because that is where he is headed.

Once again your complete and utter lack of sports knowledge is befuddling to me. I am thoroughly convinced that you are either twelve years old, or mentally incapacitated.

I don't care what's coming out of Scott Boras' mouth, I still don't beleive A-Rod will be a Yankee next year. As for Cashman, of course he is going to say that he is not being shopped...it's called "creating a market". Let me break it down for you s l o w l y.....If the Yankees come out and say they are shopping A-Rod, they for all intents and purposes are admitting that they can not bring him back next year. Therefore their trading position turns from one of strength, to one of weekness.

Cashman in essentially saying.."You want him? Then bowl me over with an offer". It is a sound strategy and it may play out until well into spring training.

I hope I didn't use too big of words for you with that explanation.

There is so much more to being a winner than batting .300 and averaging 40 home runs. It's an intangible that guys like Montana, Jordan, and yes Jeter have...that A-Rod will NEVER have. He has won absolutely nothing in his career...nothing except individual achievements. EVERY ONE of the teams he has been traded from has vastly improved the following year. I am the first to admit that as far as pure talent is concerned he is probably the best baseball player of our generation.....but it doesn't equate to Championships.

A-Rod...Hall of Famer..ABSOLUTELY....Winner....NEVER.

'Lightning-Rod' is a joke and if David Wright does not step up in next year's playoffs, we'll have two New York misfits playing 3rd base.

The Hall of Fame should criteria should now require post-season statistics if the player has visited the post season a minimum of 3 times. This is why Dwight Gooden will never be in the Hall of Fame.. forget that he is a crack head... but he SUCKED in the 1986 playoffs, and also in the 1988 playoffs (jack ass pitch to Mike Soscia).

I have officially began my quest to see that Keith Hernandez (aka Mex) should be in the Hall of Fame!!! He was clutch in the regular season and CLUTCH in the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keith Hernandez is the Phil Simms of MLB.

Keith Hernandez was the BEST first baseman in the history of New York Sports... and, yes, I do include Don Mattingly in that statement. How many championships did Mattingly win???? Sorry......

This site will not curb speech. This is a Yankee site, but also an American site as well. You want censored comments, then go to France, or Queens, or wherever not here...

... even though I am tempted to use it on those that slurp the teflon short stop all day long we will welcome comments from all... even if they are dumb.
