I'm going to go ahead and say something that may actually get me kicked off my own blog: The Yanks/Sox match up is boring and over done, and frankly am in need of a new rival.

4 plus hour games in April just don't do it for me any longer.

Another "not so bad" outing by Moose?

Let me preface this statement by stating I think Michael Kay is generally an idiot and adds little to no value to any Yankee broadcast, however his post game analysis was on the mark. It was somthing along the lines of "This game can be summed up by the complete ineffectiveness of Mike Mussina".

So lets see...he's now 1-3 with an ERA approaching 6, which with any luck he should surpass that in his next start. He's pitched 20 innings, has given up 25 hits, 5 HRs, 13 ER with only 7 Ks. The only good thing is that he isn't walking batters. My observation on that is when he gets behind he groves a pitch down the middle and is taken yard (please reference the Manny at bat in the first inning).

If Girardi wants to continue using Mussina, he should only use him as a true #5 starter, never have him face the other teams "ace" (a la Josh Beckett), and he should never ever pitch against the Red Sox again, ever.

Farnsworth will be suspended for at least a game for throwing behind Manny. Which was just what that bullpen needed with Joba not there, Farnsworth decides to act like an idiot which will put them another man down. There's another incapable pitcher that Girardi is loyal to that has no business being on the mound when the game matters.

Scooter please tell me you have seen enough of Mussina now...

Hey, other than two bad pitches to Manny, Moose looked pretty good last night. OK, maybe that's not exactly accurate, but I agree with Crash in that he should be only used as a true #5 starter.

I am happy as hell that the Farns threw behind Manny. We all spent the entire year last year wondering when the Yankee pitchers were going to start making batters feel a little uncomfortable in the box, and now that one of them does it we are going to crucify him?

I'm all for bereavement leave, and I salute Joba for his family values, but it's time now to get back to work. The old man (I'm talking about Harlan, not Prof) would surely understand that his boy has a responsibility to his teammates and to the guy cutting his check to get back to baseball.

and in case you didn't notice, I completely ignored Mid's bi-weekly call for Karstens. Your man-love for him is disturbing, Mid.

If Farnsworth drilled Manny in the ribs with a heater great, but you can't intentionally throw behind the guy. Actually, if anything, it shows us how inadequate Farnsworth really is. He must really suck if he can't hit a target as big as Manny. Manny must be 6' 220 right? It's not like it was Ellsbury up there who is five foot nothin' weighing hundred and nothin' pounds. A Farnsworth fastball to that kid would have broken him in half.

Here is a comical twist on the attempted curse of the New Stadium...
