Wang loses first; Yanks offense still asleep

Last night's game marked the 15th time this season that the Yanks have scored 3 runs or less. When will the bats wake up?

Life at .500 - I am waiting for a signature type game or series for the Girardi led Yankees to come into their own. . Hasn't happened yet.

I'm thinking a deal gets done for Griffey Jr., and Matsui is asked to play first. You are not going to win many games when you have a power position batting .170.

2008 has been a yawner thus far.

I thought Griff said he would never play for the Yanks. It had something to do Sr. or something??

He's changed his mind - saw an interview in the USA Today recently.

Griffey Jr didn't like the way Steinbrenner treated Sr. and said he wouldn't play there. I don't know if he's come off of that stance recently.

Mid you're right the combination of Duncan and Gimabi isn't cutting it. They are hitting a combined .163 (Duncan has only 2 hits on the season). A better fit may be another Red though, Adam Dunn. He's a free agent at the end of this season and he's actually played first base before. He's only going to hit .240 but he'll have 40 HRs.

I would love to say trade for Teixeira now, but the Braves wouldn't give him up without getting a king's ransom. Especially since the division will be close all year.

Random Ramblings:

It's sad how little pop this lineup has without A-Rod and Posada.

Molina has a gun connected to his right shoulder, but he can't hit a lick.

Cano misses Larry Bowa.

Farnsworth is in the process of resurrecting his career.

The Yankees will NOT be outbid for Texiera.

If the Yankees don't make the playoffs Cashman will be the GM of the Phillies next year and the Yankees will hire their head of scouting Damon Oppenheimer as the new GM.

I agree with Mid, 2008 has been a yawn.

Griffey indicated in the interview he would like to go back to where it all started - that is Seattle not NY.

The offense is pathetic at best. The bench strength is non-existent.

Giambi with HR!

The more I see Ohlendorf the more I like his stuff. He pitched another 2 good innings today only giving up the 1 hit. He was able to bridge the short uneventful Mussina performance to Joba and Mo.

It was nice to see the Yankees do a little bit of long ball in the game against the Indians. Offensively, there still needs to be some concern. Molina, Bettemit, Giambi and Cano are all hitting under .210 not possible to do much with that lack of production.

While Olendorpf continues to impress, how come no applause for Mussina. The guy is now 5-3.

Igwa goes tonight, let's hope he can give six quality innings. He Has been inconsistent down at triple A. Three great starts then three not so good starts (11 runs and 8 walks in 17 innings). Maybe he is due for another good streak.

Dammit Mid, you stole my friggin thunder!

What do you mean "no applause for Mussina". The Yankees offense shows up for one game and gave him a 3-0 lead and he coughed it right back up again. Luckily for him the Yanks hit Byrd really well and were able to get a run the next inning. Girardi had to pull Mussina after that and brought in some real pitching to shut the Tribe down for the rest of the game.

It was good to hear that Girardi leaned into Chamberlain for shaking off Molina the other day. This time Joba listens to his catcher and strikes Dellucci out. To quote the great Crash Davis: "Don't think, just throw."

Crash, have you joined the "Old Prof" school of blogging? Meaning "don't let the facts get in the way of a good story"......Joba actually shook Molina off on the last pitch to Delucci and threw a slider that he swung over....great pitch; great outing, but he STILL shook off the catcher.

Moose did what is needed of middle of the rotation starter...he gave his team a chance to win the game. Where would we be without his four wins in a row?

Alright crew, I'll be out of the country for a few days. I wish I'd be able to see Santana vs. Griffey on Saturday. Bet Griffey has two backward K's.

Here's to the Mets build up a 3 game lead upon my return.

There is an article coming out in MAXIM magazine that says Jeter has dated 6 of the top 100 sexiest women including... Carey, Alba, Biehl, Johanssen (how and why would he end that) and two others I cannot remember.

Oh, Pettitte became upset when JEter was dating Scarlett so Jeter broker up with her...

Boy Igawa sucked...and I understand Ensberg had a .100 avg against Rogers, but Girarid made a terrible decision in starting Wilson Beatmymeat at 3B. He single-handedly gave Detroit 3 runs that inning with his defense.

I'm getting real tired of this .500 crap. I know they're missing 2 big parts of their offense, but they need to get it going real quick...

Did I see that Jeter was going to bat clean up??? Boy he get's 1 HR and they move him to the power spot. Thank goodness there was a rain out.

Mid I think you'll be glad to hear that Karstens was suppose to pitch in a minor league this afternoon. Don't know the results, but that means he's getting closer to being with the big club.
