While I would have preferred to see the Brewers vs. Phils - I am more than OK with the NLCS matchup having the Cardinals in there. Both teams have some of the games best players, one franchise has a solid tradition, the other showing the enthusiasm of being in the hunt - provides for good energy, and so far, pretty good games.
On the flipside is the ALCS. I am very underwelmed with both teams. Watching them play is tough to do - they have a couple of the games best as well in Cabrera, John Hamilton, and Justin Verlander - however, I do see a high quality level of game from them and I just have this sense that both of these teams are inferrior to the top three teams that finished in the East that are no longer playing.
The more I think about it - the more I am realizing that this first round exit by the Bombers was truly a blown opportunity to add to its championship legacy.
